Bio
Charlotte Smith is a Los Angeles and NYC based dancer, choreographer and teacher. She is director and choreographer of Charlotte Katherine and Co. Her choreography has been showcased internationally on the stages of Seoul International Dance Festival at TANK (South Korea), The Ford Ampitheatre (Los Angeles), Los Angeles Dance Festival, West Hollywood Dance Festival, Seattle, San Diego, New York, and Cincinnati: including an evening length show with live orchestra, concertnova, commissioned by Musicians for Health.
In 2019 Charlotte was an featured living sculpture at MOCA in Los Angeles for Xu Zhen's "In Just A Blink Of An Eye" exhibition.
Charlotte dances for several concert dance companies and choreographers including Katie Malia and BrockusRED, and event entertainment, Circo Etereo. She danced with other companies including: Kate Wallich, Sean Greene's Shield Wall Dance Co, MULTIPLEX Dance Co, Donna Sternberg and Dancers, and Kelly Alvarez and Artists.
Charlotte is a committed international dance educator in both high-caliber concert dance training and child development/arts education for youth. Through grant funded programs with BrockusED and Pony Box Dance, Charlotte teaches dance to Preschool-High School students in the public schools of LAUSD and LBUSD. Internationally, she taught at Seoul International Dance Festival in Tank (Korea), and a series of classes, Learning English Through Dance, Play, and Music, at a village school in Sri Lanka. In 2019 she was twice named "Teacher of the Month" at Revolution Dance Center in La Canada, CA. Additionally she has taught at notable establishments including: Seoul International Dance Festival in TANK (Seoul, Korea), Oxpo English School (Marissa, Sri Lanka), Los Angeles Dance Festival, UC Irvine, Loyola Marymount University, Cornish College of the Arts, Brockus Conservatory and Idyllwild Arts Academy.
In the commercial industry Charlotte dances and choreographs for a variety of music videos and live shows, including, resident choreographer for Fiona Grey. The most virally successful music video in her arsenal is "My Way" by Noah Cyrus and One Bit, which was a selection of the LA Film Festival in 2018.
Charlotte is an alumni of Idyllwild Arts Academy (Outstanding Dancer of the Year 2008), SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance (performing member of the Purchase Dance Corps), and ultimately graduated, Cum Laude, with a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts.
While in university, Charlotte was a founding member of the Hoover Dam Collective (NYC) and danced professionally in Seattle for Kate Wallich, Anna Connor, and the Bad Girls Movement Society (Seattle, WA).
When not dancing: Charlotte works in non-profit arts administration and marketing with Brockus Project Dance Company and LA Dance Festival. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and 200-hr Certified Yoga Alliance teacher.
