Charlotte Katherine Smith is a Los Angeles based choreographer, dance artist, award winning filmmaker, and educator. Director and Resident Choreographer of Charlotte Katherine and Co., her choreography showcases internationally on stages and film festivals including Seoul International Dance Festival in TANK (Seoul, South Korea), The Ford Amphitheater (Los Angeles), Los Angeles Dance Festival, Seattle, San Diego, New York, and more. Her accomplishments include commissions, international collaborations, and awards, including Luckman Director’s Pick of the Festival at LA Dance Festival 2020.
In 2019 Charlotte was a featured living sculpture at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles for Xu Zhen's "In Just A Blink Of An Eye" exhibition. Alumni of Idyllwild Arts Academy (Outstanding Dancer of the Year 2008), she then continued on to SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance where she performed with the Purchase Dance Corps (including Rehearsal Assistant for the reconstruction of Bella Lewitsky’s Kineasonata), and was a founding member of the Hoover Dam Collective. She graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in dance from Cornish College of the Arts, while dancing professionally in Seattle for Kate Wallich, The Seattle Men’s Chorus, Anna Connor, and the Bad Girls Movement Society. When not dancing, Charlotte works in film, arts administration with Brockus Project Dance Company and LA Dance Festival. Charlotte is a certified yoga teacher (200-hour Yoga Alliance) and personal trainer (ACE). |
